Acted as an independent facilitator to gain stakeholder input
into the development of a Macrofauna Management Plan for the
ADI St Marys site. Designed a working group consultative system
and facilitated working group meetings of key stakeholders and
local community groups to develop agreed principles and preferred
options for the management of kangaroos and emus on the site.
Undertook the review of all public submissions and compiled
a report.
Developed a three year, multi-staged communication plan for
PlanningNSW for the Comprehensive Coastal Assessment, and provided
advice on appropriate community consultation and participation
strategies, techniques and timing issues. Facilitated multi-agency
planning workshop.
Developed a community consultation plan for the proposed listing
of critical habitat in the Manly area in accordance with the
Threatened Species Conservation Act. The proposal had the potential
to affect water-front properties and the viability of the local
fishing industry.
A geographically based threatened species management plan prepared
for Mt Royal National Park. One of the first of its kind in
Australia, it addressed the overall management of over 17 threatened
species.
The development of a management and rehabilitation plan based
on an assessment of the ecological condition of Yeramba Lagoon.
Numerous remediation options were investigated and an options
assessment was conducted to determine the most viable management
practices.
Completed bushfire and ecological assessments, including consultation
with RFS and production of bushfire prone lands maps. Assessed
emergency access, bushfire behaviour and bushfire history to
make recommendations for action and future planning decisions.
Recommendations consistent with local Bushfire Risk Management
Plan.
Provision of high quality maps for inclusion in Ku-ring-gai
Chase and Garigal National Parks Fire Management Plan. Analysis
and presentation of fire history, fire behaviour, vegetation
and ecological fire threshold information for 67 fire management
zones in the two reserves.
