Eco Logical Australia was engaged by Bamford Consulting to provide a specialist fauna ecologist for a fauna survey of the proposed BHP uranium mine.

Survey techniques were employed to detect threatened species in addition to collecting baseline ecological data for fauna occurring within the major habitat types in the study area.
The survey focused on:

  • Identification of potentially suitable habitat for threatened species within the study area.
  • Installation and operation of a range of fauna surveys methods and survey effort in accordance with WA EPA Guidelines.
  • Identification and recording a range of vertebrate fauna.
  • Target surveys for potentially occurring conservation significant fauns species.

    • Survey results provided the fauna survey and assessment component for a comprehensive environmental impacts assessment.
