Integrating Catchment Action Plans into NSW Local Environmental Plan Templates

Eco Logical Australia was engaged by Hunter Councils to provide guidance to Councils and the Hunter Central Rivers Catchment Management Authority (CMA) on the incorporation of NRM state targets and CMA objectives into the new Standard LEP template.

A framework was delivered that outlined principles and processes for Councils to enable them to incorporate the objectives of the CAP into the revisions of LEPs.

The project involved facilitated workshops with State Agencies as the first step in the process. The workshops focused on guiding principles, processes and datasets as well as providing best practice examples of a ‘how to’ approach. The flow diagram illustrates the context and proceedings of the project.
