Eumundi Golf Driving Range
Land use feasibility: Sunshine Coast, Qld
Eco Logical Australia were engaged to consider the feasibility of land use approval for a Golf Driving Range adjacent to the sensitive Maroochy River (north arm).
The land is within the newly formed Sunshine Coast Regional Council and is also subject to the requirements of the SEQ Regional Plan. Among other matters the status of aquatic vegetation, flood management, access, traffic, options for effluent re-use and advanced water quality management measures were to be considered in determining the feasibility for a material change of use (MCU) under the old Maroochy Council Planning Scheme.
The work was for a private client who had previously developed a golf driving range in Noosa. The land is adjacent to the historic and iconic village of Eumundi to the north of the Sunshine Coast. Amenity issues are also pertinent issues in deliberations.
