Wollondilly Biodiversity Strategy

The aims of the biodiversity strategy were to provide a coordinated approach to the conservation of Wollondilly’s native plants, animals, their habitat and the ecological processes that sustain them and provide Council staff with direction and assistance in making effective and efficient management decisions regarding biodiversity and long term strategic planning for biodiversity.

The biodiversity strategy presents actions to protect and enhance biodiversity within the Shire. Actions are related to broader strategies encompassing:

Protecting the wealth of flora and fauna

Healthy waterways and water conservation

Working sustainable farms

Sustainable rural towns

Green space and recreational networks

The project has since been integrated into Councils Operations & Planning.
