Australian Government Environment Department
EPBC Act Offsets Guide
Eco Logical Australia was contracted by the Australian Government Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts to prepare a draft Introductory Guide to Environmental Offsets under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).
The draft guide provides advice to people who may need to develop an offset under the EPBC Act. In particular, it provides an introduction for people who may not have dealt with offsets before by:
- Explaining what offsets are and why they are necessary
- Providing practical advice to help identify and deliver an offset
- Providing basic information on how the States and Territories approach offsets
The project required consultation with all States and Territories and a strong understanding of Australian Government processes.
