Biodiversity in Environmental Impact Assessment

Two accredited courses aimed at raising awareness of the legislative obligations, requirements and approaches in environmental impact assessment. The Courses have been developed in conjunction with DECCW and are aimed at Council and Government Agency staff with a biodiversity management/impact assessment and approval role and general practitioners.

Individual courses may be customised to reflect an organisation’s core work or activities requiring an environmental assessment. The presenters are Jennie Powell, Dr Enhua Lee and Mark Adams who have extensive experience in the application of the EP&A Act having worked as both consent and concurrence authorities and as consultants preparing assessment reports for numerous major projects.

Biodiversity in Environmental Impact Assessment (Review and Approval) is a professional level course that addresses the needs of specialist staff in agencies to ensure their review and approval of environment impact assessments meets legislative requirements under Part 4 and 5 of the EP&A Act with adequate and appropriate consideration of biodiversity in particular.

Biodiversity in Environmental Impact Assessment (Process and Application) is for managers and senior works staff in local councils and state government agencies who are administering projects with ecological impacts and are required to undertake and implement a basic Review of Environmental Factors (REF).
