Hawkesbury City Council
Hawkesbury Vegetation Validation
Eco Logical Australia was engaged by Hawkesbury City Council to undertake field validation of vegetation mapping and targeted field surveys. The broad objectives were to assist in long term planning and management of biodiversity and environmental values across the LGA.
The project focused on collecting information on:
- Vegetation communities (including Endangered Ecological Communities)
- Vegetation health including wetlands
- Noxious weeds and the identification of areas of infestation
- Disturbances and land management related issues
- Rare or threatened species and investigation of potential habitat areas
- Assessment of Koala habitat and potential distribution
- Review of conservation values and priorities across the LGA
Field surveys were undertaken on a polygon basis to allow for linkage to the original vegetation mapping completed by Eco Logical Australia in 2005.
