Predictive Spatial Modelling
Eco Logical Australia was engaged by the NSW Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC) to undertake predictive habitat modelling for a number of fauna species across the Cumberland Plain, Western Sydney.
Records of species locations were statistically analysed against various environmental datasets to identify relationships and highlight potential drivers to habitat preference and species distribution.
The outputs of the project included:
- A technical report outlining the procedures used and an evaluation of the strength of the habitat predictions
- GIS data layers of the habitat predictions
- Maps showing potential habitat areas for each species across the study area
