Plan of Management
Eco Logical Australia was engaged by Campbelltown City Council to undertake a Plan of Management (PoM) for the Basin Reserve.
The purpose of the Plan was to provide a management framework to ensure the on-going viability of the natural and cultural environment within the Reserve, whilst providing minimum impact passive recreation, community education and tourism opportunities.
A number of management issues and matters were addressed, including:
- Conservation and enhancement of native flora and fauna
- Protection of known Koala habitat
- Aboriginal and European heritage
- Treatment of noxious and environmental weeds
- Feral and domestic animals
- Vehicular access and parking
- Stormwater management and water quality
- Protection of riparian values
- Littering and dumping
- Provision of recreation activities and tourism
- Fire Management
- Community participation, stewardship and education
