Three South Coast WA Shires
South Coast WA NRM Biodiversity Audit and Database
Eco Logical Australia has been contracted to undertake extensive community consultation to gather and collate biodiversity data for three shires in the South West of WA.
The data collected has been intersected with shire managed reserves and collated into a database for use by South Coast NRM and Shire staff for reserve management and collection of related information. The information collected includes reserve assets, and is linked to a maintenance journal that allows field staff to record ongoing logs of works carried out in the reserve.
The database has been built in a portable format that allows it to be viewed via a web browser over internal networks as well as externally over the internet, and has potential applications for data entry and information recoding in the field over mobile broadband services.
