Operations Manager Northern NSW & Senior/Principal Consultant
Location: Coffs Harbour or Armidale

We’re on the lookout for a highly motivated Operations Manager to lead our Northern NSW team—home to our CHARM crew (Coffs Harbour and Armidale). This amazing team is known for its strong teamwork, deep expertise, and trusted client relationships. We work with a number of long-standing clients, delivering quality scientific work across government (Local, State and Federal), energy and resources sectors with projects spanning ecology, renewables, EIS, conservation, and NRM.

You will be responsible for helping to drive our Northern NSW team to achieve key commercial, growth, and company values-based metrics specific to ELA’s Coffs Harbour and Armidale operations. You will achieve this through teamwork and collaboration with the office’s senior leadership group, where collective achievement is celebrated. We are flexible with your location, and you can choose to be based in either Coffs Harbour or Armidale regions

Experienced to Associate Ecologist - Wollongong

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Experienced to Associate Ecologist to join our team in our Wollongong office. This role has been specifically designed for a consultant who is keen to jump into a long-term local monitoring project but also welcome the opportunity to work on and project manage a diverse range of projects and deliver environmental and ecological solutions for our clients.

The scientific side of the role will see you scoping, managing, and undertaking ecological surveys and assessments, proposal and report writing, and project management. You will also assist with client liaison, office strategy, business development, and mentoring. We encourage employees to rethink traditional methods of project delivery and develop innovative solutions

Experienced Heritage Consultant - Sydney (parental leave cover)

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Heritage Consultant/Archaeologist with specialism in Aboriginal Cultural Heritage to join the team and work on a range of exciting projects.

This is a fixed-term contract to cover parental leave (approximately 9 months) commencing in August 2025, and we are open to full time and part time arrangements. There is potential for the position to be extended.

The role focuses on the preparation of archaeological and heritage assessments, undertaking field survey, archaeological excavation, research, report writing and project management.

Team Leader - Bush Regeneration - Ingleburn

As a Team Leader with ELA, you’ll be at the heart of transformative environmental work, actively restoring urban, infrastructure, and conservation sites across Western Sydney. You’ll be hands-on with weed control, revegetation, and erosion management, guiding your team to turn barren spaces into thriving natural landscapes.

This is a role for someone who loves working outdoors and seeing the fruits of their labour. You’ll work with brushcutters, chainsaws, and backpack sprayers, leading and mentoring a team of individuals who share your passion for bush regeneration.

Associate / Principal Ecologist – Melbourne

With a growing pipeline of work, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Associate/Principal Ecologist to join the Melbourne team. You will have the opportunity to work on interesting and diverse projects, delivering innovative environmental management and conservation solutions to our clients. Our clients and projects are continually growing – particularly in the renewables, resources and conservation sectors.

You will serve as a technical expert, offering guidance and mentorship to junior staff. Your knowledge of threatened species and ecological communities in the region will allow you to lead high-quality assessments and contribute to innovative environmental management solutions. You will be responsible for developing methodologies and protocols, planning and leading field surveys, and ensuring technical excellence in project delivery.

With the continued success of our operations and a growing pipeline of work, we are looking for experienced ecologists, botanists, zoologists, and restoration ecologists to join us and assist in meeting project demands. With a few years of field work under your belt, you will contribute to conservation planning and management, land development, infrastructure, and renewable energy projects delivering environmental and ecological solutions for our clients. We have roles for Ecologists who have three years' experience through to Principal level.
