AusIMM Women in Mining Network South Australia end of year event

Last week, the Adelaide Office celebrated the End of Year Mentoring Event held by AusIMM Women in Mining Network South Australia (WIMnetSA) and Women in Resources South Australia (WinRSA).

The event invited industry mentors and mentees from past and present years to share their collective experiences. During the lifetime of the program, ELA Adelaide mentees have had the opportunity of being paired with mentors who hold such roles as Vice President of Analysis and Improvement – Project Centre of Excellence, and Principal Contracts and Procurement Manager.

The 2017 mentoring program was one of the most successful intakes since starting three years ago, with 25 mentor and mentee partnerships. The program included a cross-disciplinary selection of participants from around 21 different organisations, with the majority of mentors’ (male and female) work experience ranging from ten to 40+ years, and female mentees’ resources industry experience ranging from three to 16 years.

The ELA Adelaide office proudly supports the AusIMM WIMnetSA’s committee by providing in-kind support of events and by the use of their office Boardroom for monthly meetings. They are a fantastic organisation who work in the minerals industry towards Diversity, Inclusiveness, Mentoring & Career Development and Engagement & Flexibility, regardless of gender.
