Dr Austin Omalley And Alistair Stewart

This month Eco Logical Australia (ELA), a Tetra Tech Company will formally launch the Victorian arm of its business, joining Coffey, a Tetra Tech Company in its Melbourne office. Spearheading the development of ELA’s business in Victoria is Principal Ecologist Dr Austin O’Malley and Hydrogeologist Alistair Stewart.

We are proud to announce Austin has joined the ELA team as a Principal Ecologist and will be leading local ecological and related environmental planning services in Victoria from the newly established Melbourne office located in Abbotsford.

With over 15 years of experience in ecology, environmental planning, management and research, Dr Austin O’Malley has worked as an environmental consultant for 10 years. During this time he has managed or played a major role in numerous environmental projects for local and state government departments and agencies, utility providers, and private landholders.

Austin joins Hydrogeologist Alistair Stewart, a key member of the ELA water team, who has already been working alongside the Coffey groundwater team in Melbourne on a number of projects for both ELA and Coffey clients.

“The opening of our Victorian business has come about directly because of collaboration with our new colleagues within Coffey”, says CEO Andrew Morison. “Together we identified this opportunity and its realisation has been facilitated by key staff in both our organisations. There is a lot of excitement within both teams”.

The presence of ELA in Melbourne will provide for an increased multi-disciplinary expertise for Victorian projects and clients.

“In addition to Coffey, we have several national clients that have been looking for ELA to complete its offering by expanding our geographic spread such that we can service their needs across the country” says Andrew, “The establishment of a permanent consultant team in Melbourne addresses this demand as well as provides opportunities for our staff to get exposure to a further range of interesting projects and locations to work in.”
